Within the gold that never sets,
the Mother bears the Mystery.

Her face is guarded silence—
sorrow already offered,
tenderness that does not hold, but gives.

With her hand she points to the Son:
a Way that can be walked,
a Truth that can be met.

The Child blesses—
with the gravity of a King
and the gentleness of a Son.

Among light, carved wood, and flowers,
eternity draws near,
and the heart—without even noticing—
bows.

2014 — I wrote this icon for the Orthodox Cathedral of the Entrance of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple and of Saint Nicholas of Myra, Rimini.
An icon is not made to decorate, but to bear witness to a Presence. For this reason, even what surrounds it becomes part of the same language: the hand-carved wooden case, curved from my talented friend @vasil.jance conceived not as packaging, but as reverent protection—an offering of care.
Twelve years later, the same gaze still speaks—with the same peace, and the same silent invitation: “Remain.”

At the beginning of January of this year, we had the blessed honor of visiting the Church of Saint Gerasimos of Cefalognà in Tirana, shortly after the sacred icon, written by our iconography studio by the hand of @kyriakos_kosova , had been reverently placed there through the devoted efforts of Father @emanuel_lusha and the generous donors of the parish.

We give glory to God for allowing this holy image to find its home in this church, where it now stands as a visible witness of faith, prayer, and continuity in the life of the Orthodox community. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all those who contributed with love and sacrifice, making this offering possible for the glory of God and the spiritual benefit of the faithful.

We are also deeply humbled to note that last Sunday, this church was blessed by the pastoral visit of Archbishop Joan of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, who celebrated the Divine Liturgy in this holy place. His presence was a profound blessing and a sign of unity, care, and spiritual renewal for the parish.

May the Lord, through the prayers of Saint Gerasimos and all the Saints, bless Archbishop Joan, Father Emanuel Lusha, the faithful benefactors, and all who come to venerate this icon. May this church remain a place of prayer, peace, and salvation for generations to come.

✨Divine Providence.✨

In 2015, this icon was written.
For reasons that appeared, at the time, as misfortune, it was never claimed by the one who had commissioned it. Instead, it was allowed to wander—between Italy and America, returning again to Italy, and then crossing the ocean once more.

After ten years, those apparent misfortunes were revealed for what they truly were: the quiet working of Divine Providence.
The icon was finally entrusted to the hands of His Grace Bishop Irenej, of the Serbian Orthodox Church of Washington–New York and Eastern America, to whom this icon is especially dear.

Nothing was delayed. Nothing was lost.
All was kept for the appointed time.

Glory to God in the highest.☦️

Upon its arrival at the church of @kisha_shen_gjerasimi for which it was commissioned, the icon was solemnly welcomed with a litany marking its entrance.
An icon created for prayer, now finally home.

I definitely don’t know how to match music to my videos — and honestly the videos themselves aren’t masterpieces either…

I rewatch, tweak, wait for the “perfect moment”… and in the meantime weeks go by, projects pile up, and then straight into the land of forgotten drafts.

So that’s it: here’s a totally imperfect video, with music that doesn’t really match and a tutorial nobody asked for — but it’s been sitting in my drafts for weeks, so today I’m setting it free. ✨📽️

Creativity isn’t just about having ideas – especially when, let’s be honest, no idea is ever completely “new.” The hard part is having the grit to stay with your ideas long enough to finish them. It’s choosing to “show up and do the work” even when it feels repetitive, and finding one small way to make something more useful, more honest, or more you. In the end, creativity is less about lightning bolts of inspiration and more about quiet stubbornness: keep trying, keep adjusting, keep going until the thing in your head actually exists in the world.
